Permissions
I have changed the permissions on the Windows and the mnt folders, yet when I attempt to access them from the user desktop, I get a dialog that says that only the root can do this. How do I give the user this permission also? The user is part of the root group already.

Read the man pages for 'chown', 'chgrp', and 'chmod'.

The commands seem simple enough, but where are they used? Do you just navigate to a file with a terminal and issue the command there?
