The photos at Raven Armoury were taken of my sword. It looks real dark in person - I think they were trying to show the detail on the blade on the pictures they took so that is why it looks bright in the images.

What many people ignore about swords is that real life weapon were usually quite light, even the longer two handed blades.

5-8 kg was the absolute maximum for a handy blade. Most blades don't even surpass 3 Kg. During the recent years, movies and fantasy novels somehow instilled the idea that certain swords might have been very heavy, up to 20Kg. Some replica shops, therefore, produced questionable replicas with an absurd weight just to cather to "the more the better" market.

Well Stormbringer drank the souls of its victims and infused the wielder with unholy strength so weight was never an issue.

Thanks! People often wonder what lens I used for that first pic. Its the Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro.

Hi guys,

Sorry to bring this topic back to life.

But Albion swords are in fact great but they don't offer the best bang for the buck nowadays you can buy a real sword from Kult of Athena for ~200 dollars.
If you are in the US/CANADA use internacional "Swords Buyer Guide" , there you will find the biggest worlwide sword community, and pretty much everything you might need to know now and in the future.

Anyway I'm writting this because I'm from Europe and here is really hardddddddd to find good swords and normally they are much highly priced then in the US.

After a lot of schearch online I found a site "Europe Swords Buyer Guide"

I'm not going to insert the link because i just registered and found this forum, I don't want to be banned your blocked, if you use google you will find it.

How does a bot turn this thread up yet when I searched for it a few weeks ago I couldn't find it? If I try searching for it now it comes right up, but not three weeks ago....
