I cant remember its name but it was the boss that kept coming back in Phantasy Star 4 (SEGA Genesis). It wasnt Zio, it was the dark something (big robot blob demon shadow... you know, pure evil
). At one point (may have been the final battle) it was extremely hard and had 3 stages. They all had some sort of blast that would hit all 5 characters for some rediculous amount of damage... Im thinking it set them all down to 1 HP. And itd do this so often that you spent more time healing your characters than attacking it.The battles with that thing took FOREVER. Amazing game though.

The Octopus witch, Ursula, from The Little Mermaid. NES
That bitch was HARD! And before anyone starts, I was only about 6 years old and I had the HUGEST crush on the cartoon character Arial. One day I'll meet a beautiful mermaid just like her.... you'll see.... one day.... |

In Metroid Prime (maybe the sequel) for GC there were some bosses that you had to fight using only the morph-ball mode. Wow talk about @*#)@*) annoying. Especially the one where you have to work your way through the maze and set traps and stuff.

Ninja Gaiden on Xbox comes to mind.
A game never made me cry until that.

I'm not a fan of the final boss in Beyond Good & Evil. The boss itself wasn't hard, but getting your controls reversed is seriously annoying.
And this isn't a boss, but it's an entire game of frustrating hardness - Chakan: The Forever Man... Oh my god, that game made me want to kill puppies and set babies on fire.

I can't believe you guys remember that game ONE for the PS1. For a long time I thought I was the only person that played that game. That had the BEST opening game sequence, especially at the time. It was so damn intense.
For most HATED boss battle.....I guess most hated boss sequence...is the end part of GTA:SA. The boss batle itself isn't that hard, but all the damage you take coming and going makes it a royal bitch to get out alive. This isn't my most hated, but its one of my most recent and one that I can actaully remember. |
