ATrpms maintains packages for all Fedora Core releases, RHEL 3 and 4 and the EOL'd Red Hat Linux releases 7.3 to 9.
You will need the following packages,
- the non kernel related parts:
nvidia-graphics8756 and nvidia-graphics8756-libs
(depending on your distribution also nvidia-graphics-devices and/or nvidia-graphics-helpers)and
- the kernel modules (kmdls) built for your kernel:
nvidia-graphics8756-kmdl-<uname -r of your kernel>
You can use yum/smart/apt to retrieve them from ATrpms like in
yum install nvidia-graphics8756 nvidia-graphics8756-kmdl-`uname -r`
Note that ATrpms allows for concurrent installation of several driver revisions, as different target groups have different favourite driver releases (mostly PVR groups vs Gamers). So there is a tool called nvidia-graphics-switch
to switch between installed drivers. Use it outside of X, for example in runlevel 3.
