Default Unable to use agpgart

Hi,

I'm having troubles with AGP. I can't use my ordinary agpgart, only nVidia AGP works.
My system:

MSI i875 mainboard, 2*512MB PC3200 RAM
2.6 GHz Pentium 4 (800FSB/HT)
Inno3D 6800GT 256MB AGP

Running Archlinux 0.7.1 (Noodle), kernel 2.6.16-ARCH. Here is some output with the nVidia
AGP
:

Code:
[fackamato@fackamato ~]$ cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status
Status: Enabled
Driver: NVIDIA
AGP Rate: 8x
Fast Writes: Disabled
SBA: Enabled
The nVidia device section in xorg config:

Code:
Section "Device"
    Identifier "Device0"
    Driver "nvidia"
    VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
    Option "NoLogo" "True"
    Option "RenderAccel" "true"
    Option "Coolbits" "1
    Option "backingstore" "true"
    Option "nvAGP" "1"
# Option "IgnoreEDID" "true"
# Option "UseEdidDpi" "FALSE"
    Option "DPI" "100 x 100"
# Option "UseEDID" "FALSE"
#Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true"
EndSection
dmesg: NVRM: loading NVIDIA Linux x86 Kernel Module 1.0-8756 Wed Mar 29 14:26:26 PST 2006

Code:
[fackamato@fackamato nvidia]$ glxgears
64936 frames in 5.0 seconds = 12987.031 FPS
65377 frames in 5.0 seconds = 13075.306 FPS
65367 frames in 5.0 seconds = 13073.313 FPS
Above is with the nVidia AGP. Below is with agpgart:

Code:
[fackamato@fackamato ~]$ glxgears
46803 frames in 5.0 seconds = 9360.519 FPS
46591 frames in 5.0 seconds = 9318.152 FPS
46858 frames in 5.0 seconds = 9371.446 FPS
Code:
[fackamato@fackamato ~]$ cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status
Status: Disabled

AGP initialization failed, please check the ouput
of the 'dmesg' command and/or your system log file
for additional information on this problem.
I don't get it why agpgart doesn't work. As mentioned before, I'm using the stock Archlinux kernel, and I can't see
how that could be a problem, since agpgart loads and everything. Please see http://www.tehjunkyard.net/nvidia/ for logfiles and configs for both nvagp and agpgart. Thanks in advance! Oh, and happy easter!

Kind regards // Mathias

Default Re: Unable to use agpgart

Well I solved the 60hz only problem, but agpgart still prevails :/

I just can't figure out why nvagp works and agpgart doesn't.
