I'm running debian unstable on 2.6.16.5 vanilla kernel, I succed in compiling the module with your installer but when i try to run X i get this errori in the log file: (EE) Failed to load module "glx" (a required submodule could not be loaded, 0) (II) LoadModule: "int10" (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libint10.so (II) Module int10: vendor="X.Org Foundation" compiled for 7.0.0, module version = 1.0.0 ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 0.8 (II) LoadModule: "type1" (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/fonts/libtype1.so (II) Module type1: vendor="X.Org Foundation" compiled for 7.0.0, module version = 1.0.2 Module class: X.Org Font Renderer ABI class: X.Org Font Renderer, version 0.4 (II) Loading font Type1 (II) LoadModule: "vbe" (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libvbe.so (II) Module vbe: vendor="X.Org Foundation" compiled for 7.0.0, module version = 1.1.0 ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 0.8 (II) LoadModule: "nvidia" (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nvidia.so (EE) LoadModule: Module nvidia does not have a nvidiaModuleData data object. Please note that $ sudo modprobe nvidia succeds and the module appears in lsmod although it does not change thigs for Xorg to run properly Here follows some output that might help: andrea@galileo:~$ uname -a Linux galileo 2.6.16.5 #1 Thu Apr 13 18:58:00 CEST 2006 x86_64 GNU/Linux andrea@galileo:~$ Xorg -version X Window System Version 7.0.0 Release Date: 21 December 2005 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 7.0 Build Operating System:Linux 2.6.16-1-vserver-amd64-k8 x86_64 Current Operating System: Linux galileo 2.6.16.5 #1 Thu Apr 13 18:58:00 CEST 2006 x86_64 Build Date: 16 March 2006 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version. Hello,
I did have problem with glx module too on the same debian configuration ... Try to see if you have run 'nvidia-installer' with correct --x-module-path ... there is a post on it ! If it done, check if your libglx.so is the right symbolic link (pointed to libglx.so.8756). My problem was this one ![]() Good luck ... |
