7800GTX disabling multi-threading on Debian64

Hi,

I need to disable mult-threading of nVidia7800GTX on my Debian-testing-amd64 box due to some segmentation faults I experience in Houdini (3D application) when dealing with particles, how can I do it? (this is what I've been advised to do by the developpers).
