I've noticed that "FlatPanelProperties" is not used in the current driver, indeed, if I use the strings cmd on the driver binary it appears not to exist at all. Is there a work-around for modifying the scaling/dithering properties when using a DFP?

This is a known problem that should be resolved in a future driver release; for now, you can use `nvidia-settings` to adjust the flat panel scaling/dithering properties.

If I switch to 640x480, and select centered or aspect scaled in nvidia-settings, it always just scales fullscreen. It worked fine in prior versions. Any ideas? |

@d13f00l: to the best of my knowledge, that's not a general problem. Please generate and post an nvidia-bug-report.log file.

I'm afraid it doesnt work here, either. Using randr to switch resolution, the desktop is always scaled fullscreen, regardless of the config in nvidia-settings. Looking through the bugreports I've generated, the FlatpanelScaling attribute never changes from 3. Could this be an nvidia-settings bug, rather than a driver problem? bug report attached.

I can confirm the previous fiondings. FlatPanelProperties has no effect, neither does nvidia-settings.

I've reproduced the nvidia-settings problem and opened bug 224480.
Thanks, Lonni |

Oh, here's that thread I was looking for. Is there any update on this? Still doesn't seem to work in the latest release...

The FlatpanelProperties X driver option will be available again in future NVIDIA Linux graphics drivers.

@flai: that's a known problem, please see above; the 1.0-87xx NVIDIA Linux graphics driver releases do not recognize the FlatpanelProperties X configuration file option.
