Default quick suggestion for nVidia installer

Check to see if the drive it's extracting to has enough space...I had too many old kernels in my root and didn't notice and got just a cryptic error about error uncompressing driver... :-)

They might as well make it check for patches available online while they're at it, as to avoid the million posts about the driver not compiling with kernel XYZ...

That's a good idea as well.
nVidia should have a look at Kanotix's install-nvidia-debian.sh script. It pulls down all the patches, the driver, etc. and installs it. It's relatively painless, but it doesn't check for disk space either :-)
