Default Mode "1360x768_60" is too large for LG PDP50K (DFP-0);

I am trying to get my plazma working with mythtv. My LG manual says thet the maxium resolution is 1366x768. The EDID data doesn't list this resolution and so refused to use my modeline saying

Mode is rejected: Mode (1360 x 768) is too large for DFP

I added to xorg.conf

Option "ModeValidation" "NoEdidDFPMaxSizeCheck"

I now get

Mode "1360b" is too large for LG PDP50K (DFP-0); discarding.

Any ideas?

I changed from the DVI to VGA connector and it works fine. So I guess I will be using the vga connecter for the time being

manplusdog,
Please start X with the following command (while using DVI):
startx -- -logverbose 5

and then post an nvidia-bug-report.log

Thanks,
Lonni

Pluged it back into the dvi port and ran the bug tool as requested

The EDID in the bug report doesn't seem to correspond at all with the the GIF that you attached. Is this document available online?

According to the EDID, 1280x1024@75Hz is the maximum native resolution of your DFP.

Thanks,
Lonni

I got it working with
Option "ExactModeTimingsDVI" "True"

It is fustrating but what is in the manual is not in the edid There are two models a 42" and a 50", 42" only does 1024x768 maybe they couldn't be bothered updating the edid!

Life would have been much simpler if it had! I now have it working at 1366x768 and my 50" plasma is running perfectly, pixel perfectly.

In a odd but unrelated note, mythtv now has a 300ms delay that has to be corrected

meant to include the modeline for 1366x768, i was not sure if it would do it. I had read it had to be a multiple of 8 so either 1360x768 or 1368768. Well I will just comfirm that a nvidia 6200 works perfectly at 1366x768.

ModeLine "1366x768_60" 88.03 1366 1424 1704 1816 768 770 782 808

Thanks for your time Lonni

Could you please post or maybe email me your xorg.conf? I cannot get 1366x768 working on my 50" panasonic plasma + 6600gt + linux.

Thank you!
