Next release with GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap ?

Hi,

I wonder, if the next release of nvidia-linux-drivers contains support for GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap?

Does anyone know, when this release is scheduled?

Lonni/AaronP have said that they'll support it when that OpenGL Extension is finalized. It's in a "beta" form currently which means the spec for it may change (like the 802.11n spec which just got rejected today so everyone who thought they were buying 802.11n gear early is not officially hosed ;-)

the specification should be released pretty soon... but from what i've read (i think it was on the phoronix site), it'll be implemented in the nvidia 9xxx series...

Oh dear sweet hope springs from my mind: Perhaps the four week maintenance release is late because the GLX_EXT_tex_from_pix is now final, or final enough to implement?? Perhaps we will get a release in the next day, week, month that will have it??

Wouldn't that be sweet? I really would hate to wait all the way till September to get GLX_EXT_tex_from_pix support. Months of waiting while all the open driver folks play with it! Horror!

It has been mentioned in various places that the first release with tfp support will be 9xxx and further recently someone from Nvidia mentioned on irc that there will be an updated 8xxx release in the near future, so the next release won't contain tfp.
