Default How to set SyncToVBlank with GDM ?

I'm running FedoraCore5 with Xgl. I know about the __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=1 option, which fixes the tearing of some opengl effect in Xgl.

It's all good if I run Xgl with my custom script from init 3, I just export __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=1 and it works.

But the problem is that now I'm using GDM login with Xgl, so I can normaly login to my Gnome session, but I don't know how to export sync to vblank now.

I read that you can export in /etc/init.d/gdm or /etc/init.d/xdm or even in /etc/environment somehow. I don't have gdm or xdm file on my Fedora and the environment file doesn't work for me either.

Is there a proper way to export/pass this option when using GDM ?
How...

You could add it to your .xinitrc file which is loaded at X startup. Not sure if the 'standard' X server catches it before starting Xgl though. Else as a hack add it to your .bashrc or /etc/profile

Setting the variable from within /etc/profile should work. Make sure you logout and relogin or just reboot. Also watch out with .bashrc similar things apply (restart your shell).

Ok I'll try again
I just put this line at the end of the file, right ?

export __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=1

EDIT: No, not working.
