Twinview on GeForce 7600 GT not working

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my GeForce 7600 GT (Gainward) (PCI-Express).
My previous card, a MSI GeForce 6200 (TC), had no problems with my twinview-setup, where I have a DFP at 1280x1024 and a Head Mounted Display with 800x600@1280x1024 in clone mode.
However, with the 7600 GT (wich is only supported in the latest drivers, so I have 87.56 installed), I get a scrambled screen on both the vga and dvi output after some time beeing black when I do a startx.

In the Xorg.0.log, I get:

(EE) NVIDIA(0): The requested configuration of display devices is not
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     supported in the hardware.

Oh, and I tested the card under windows and setting up a spanning desktop was no problem, so the card should support dual head.

I hope you can help me out here...

I'd suggest removing the ConnectedMonitor option from your X configuration, unless you have a good reason for using it.
