Default Site needs a news post about 512mb 7900GT's

You should consider running a front page news piece on the recent availability of 512mb 7900 GT graphics cards.

There are currently 3 models on the market:

Gainward BLISS Geforce 7900 GT 512mb "Goes Like Hell" - http://www.gainward.net/products/pro...products_id=49

Xpertvision 7900 GT Sonic - http://www.xpertvision.com.tw/en/pro...0GT-Sonic.html

The Gainward and Xpertvision cards are identical except for labelling/pcb color since both companies are subsiduaries of palit (www.palit.com.tw)

The last one is by sparkle, don't know a lot about this one other than core clock is slower than those above (500 vs 550). - http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/04/14/sp...graphics_card/
http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20060414PR204.html

The cards are available in Australia and the UK, not sure about USA, but I fail to see why they would not be sold there.

I believe they offer exceptional value for money and should be aggresively pushed at those considering an ATi x1800 XT because of its 512mb of memory.

...and the annoying whine of the X1800XT's fan

Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for putting the info on the front page Mike.

I only recently got wind of these cards and could not believe they were not receiving any attention on the 'net.

Will be buying one for myself post haste.

For those that are curious the memory specs are 1.2 ns for the Gainward and Xpertvision cards, not sure on the Sparkle.

Combined with the price reduction in normal 7900 GT's this is just unbeatable value IMO - virtually a 7900 GTX at a fantastic price $500 -$550 is the retail range here in Australia so far.

I think Clay tried something like this (with different cards) and it didn't work. But that was a while ago so maybe things are different now?
