Does this new Media Player run better and use less memory then Media Player 10?

Well I checked again and its topping off at 20mb at times and then going down to 15. Is that better then Windows Media Player 10? I didn't check before I installed.

Well, technically, this is the leaked version. We don't know if it's going to be the "final" beta that they release on the 17th, Wednesday, but I've been running it for the past day and, I've got to admit, it's really shaping up into something cool. Runs at about 10mb RAM usage for me, unless watching a movie. There are some bugs and missing features, but, overall, nothing too bad. And I believe that they'll release an x64 version on the official release date.

Edit: Actually, I'm not too sure about this not being final, since Microsoft themselves are linking to Softpedia. Meh...now I'm just confused...

Edit 2: Well, on second thought, the actual Microsoft site for WMP hasn't done anything, so I'm still thinking about an official release on the 17th.

Hmmmm...the .4826 version I'm running has a problem where the advanced tag editor for songs doesn't save lyrics. Was playing around with sync'd lyrics, got a song done after about 20 minutes, clicked "apply" and "OK" and the lyrics went bye-bye.

Geeeeeee that sucks for all us Win XP x64 users. I bet the DivX/XviD Codecs look the same even on Windows Media Player v11 Beta.

I downloaded the latest build off of Windows Meida.com and looks good to me. I like the album info and playlist stuff.

I give it a couple more bulds before it becomes primetime. Good approach.
