I can get WOL (wake on lan) to work on a shutdown from XP on this system,
but not from linux. Asus A8N5X kernel 2.6.16.9 driver = forcedeth as root: ethtool -s eth0 wol g ethtool eth0 #shows both wake-on's as g poweroff Result: machine ignores magic packet and does not wake. Tried removing "-i" from final /sbin/halt command but it made no difference. Tried installing NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0301-pkg1.run but it failed to build with this kernel. The errors are attached. I'd rather use forcedeth if at all possible. Why isn't it allowing WOL when WOL is known to work with this hardware (and the Nvidia Nforce4 windows driver)? Thanks. |
