I second the above.
nVidia reps always claimed that AiGLX will only be supported by the 9x.xx series
and not by the 8x.xx series.

It's just how corporations build software. It's not like an OSS software development process.
Believe me, I know how big companies do this. I work for one.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the QA process. The ABI was changed the same day 8756 was released.

I think the answer was "9xxx at the earliest", so there's a possibility that it won't.
