Default AGP ststus?

So here's the deal, I've got a quadro 4000FX, Dual opterons on a Tyan s2885, running RHEL4 x86_64, with a kernel built from the RHEL .src package, and GART_IOMMU disabled (only change in config). The driver version is 8762.

X runs fine, but if I do a `cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status` there's nothing there.

Previously, with the stock RHEL kernel (2.6.9-34.0.1.ELsmp), dmesg contained errors when attempting to load NvAGP, because of the conflict with GART_IOMMU. Those errors have disappeared, but even then the `cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status` command returned nothing. To be very clear, it does not say disabled, the "file" is empty.

My nvidia-bug-report.log is attached. It's a tgz, but I had to append .log so I could upload it (over 100k).

I need to make sure that AGP is enabled, at 8x, along with fast writes.

Thanks in advance!

Does the status show up if you boot with pci=conf1?

The AGP status isn't reported because there's no visible host-bridge with AGP capability; please make sure that you have the latest SBIOS installed for your mainboard.

I have several other machines, same hardware/bios, running x86 versions of RHEL, and they work. I'll update the BIOS, and post the results, but I'm curious why the x86 version would see the host bridge correctly, and x86_64 does not.

....

And after walking over to the box, I reloaded optimized defaults, and kudzu found my audio, after which, the host bridge with AGP is visible, fast writes, 8x and all the good stuff is there.
