As far as lan parties go the specs are below. This is from their website which cna be reached at http://www.blizzard.com/starcraft/

"Multiplayer games for up to 8 players over IPX Networks and Battle.net®, 4 players with Direct Cable Connection, and 2 players with Modem Connection."

I have always played with 8 people via battle.net and it was awesome. I can't seem to connect now though, thats the problem. I have played a private game also over battlenet and it is just as fun. I would recommend the game.

I think I'll stick with Private BattleNet games. IPX sounds kinda messy in WinXP.

Actually, it's not. Public games and both private are both held over bettle.net and both fun and eays to set up and to play. You could always just get 2 computers close to one another and physically hook them up or however else and play that way.

How do I know what my ip suffix is?

It's just the IP of whatever computer you're using. It should be 192.168.0.(number from 2 to 255) by default on a Netgear router, so go to your network connections under Windows, right click the connection, and click Status. This will show the IP under the Support tab. Alternatively, you can look under the "connected devices" in the router setup menu.

Anyone still playing Starcraft? I just picked the game back up and learning the ropes, yet again. Wouldn't mind playing with some of you NV'ers sometime.
