Actually, now that I think about it, the SLI mode I was using for the demo was kind of like that. It was very sluggish in the menu and in some cut scenes but it ran well in the actual game. One of the other SLI modes, gave me better menu performance/cutscene performance but the in-game performance was just a tad lower. I don't remember the modes I was trying though so I'd have to search for it. I'm currently just using the predefined value with the retail game.

Does anyone else besides me get a ton of temp files in the ...\Local Settings\Temp directory? I'm not sure if it's cumulative or not but after running the game twice there were a 156 files in the directory (6 meg worth of temp files). So far, it's the only game I've found that seems to cause that.

See screencap for a sample of the filenames.

Hmm the idea of losing all saved games when quitting a mission before finishing it sucks!

Yeah, I don't like that either. I thought I had done something wrong but after trying it a few times with the same result, I read the whole warning and couldn't believe it said you'd lose the save games.

What drivers are you guys using to paly this? It keeps freezing on me on exit for some reason and I can't do anything except shut down the computer. My specs are
p4 3.0 ghz
geforce 6800
1.5g ram

I've never had this problem with any other game before, kind of annoying

I also get the files in my temp folder, but no big deal IMO. They seem to be some kind of shader cache files, similar what BF2 is creating. Yes I was highly irritated after I figured out that the savegames are basically only useful for the current session, especially because I had around 20 crashes until I finished the game, 5 of them while reading the "newspaper" after the end of a mission.
