I would've thought it to be smoother than this. (click image for zoom)

Curious to see how nVidia's 16xS SLI AA would look. BTW how did you get 32x AA?

I would think he could get more than 25 fps in that scene with dual 7950 GX2s. Even with 32xAA ! Or maybe that scene is heavy on other hardware such as CPU. Not sure..

*edit - ah I didn't know quad SLI has 32xAA mode. jAkUp I couldn't even afford your electric bill, let alone 4 graphics cards! lol

The source engine is pretty efficient, in terms of 3D rendering. I was amazed to see my "doorstop" 7300GS being able to handle lost coast at 1024x768 with AA2x at 32fps.

Still a memory hog, though and with anything less than 1Gb of RAM I still experience stutter.

My system isn't as efficiently configured for gaming as it used to be, but it still runs wonderfully on my setup.

I am going through it again this time with commentary on- which, might I add, is awesome and I hope that the next episode features it as well. But, in regards to performance, I upped the resolution from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200. Okay, I cannot say that my 6800GT handles it without a hitch- but it is DEFINITELY playable.

I'm using a half a gig of CAS2.5 DDR400 ram and then another half a gig (2x256) of CAS3 DDR333 ram, and an improperly configured hard drive configuration as well. So, the only "lag" is when loading. For the most part it runs smooth without a hitch- but as soon as you come around a corner where a vast expanse will be visible- the game pauses. I get the feeling that if my 6800GT had another 256MB of vram this wouldn't be such an issue. Also, it'd help if I had a solid gig of some quality ram (I used to, and my system was a lot faster than it is now). Oh well, 1600x1200 with full HDR and everything else maxed (of course, no AA/AF) and the game running mostly smooth as butter still- what do I have to complain about, really? This lil' 6800GT is impressing me all over again. The coolest thing is, currently nothing in my rig is overclocked.
