just finished it. it is indeed quite an experience, though it left you asking more questions this time around . . again. gameplay, graphics, acting, and presentation were all top-notch. for twenty bucks, this is one hell of a great 6 hours of entertainment. now awaiting for episode 2

Well we simply disagree there, I think the art design and overall graphical expression surpasses just about anything else out there.

On a sidenote, how the hell can you not like the HDR implementation in HL2?
Seriously would you prefer Far Cry's totally exaggerated (mis)use of HDR? I think it's perfect in it's current integration in Source. I also like the fact they we will see better graphics in Episode 2 and even better in Episode 3 because they continuously develope the Source technology until the end of Episode 3, where we allegedly will see a whole new engine.

To all those people who says it too short (especially you having completed it within 3 hours):
1. Quit power storming through the game
2. Don't forget that it's is called an episode; that's what you get and that's what you pay for. Look at the pricetag for christ sake, don't tell me you expected a lot more than 4-5 hours?
3. This one is real simple: play on hard difficulty. I am, and I'm having real fun
Cheers

Have you noticed that you can view a teaser of Episode 2 by starter a new game in the final chapter "coming soon"? Otherwise it is also placed in steamapps\NAVN\halflife 2 episode one\episodic\media\ - Can't wait!

That is an awesome sneak preview, though they make it seem like the Vontergauts (sp) can bring people back from the dead?

Wow, only 42 more hours of downloading for me I wasn't aware that when I bought the retail dvd I just bought a link to a steam download server. I won't be purchasing any more valve titles, with my earth link connection teminating every three hours to prevent abuse, this will take a week or so. I hate valve for this, why isn't the game content on the disc??? Oh, well I guess I'll still "download" the next few episodes anyway...Update: I ****ing hate valve. I can't beleive it I might end up pirating a game I already bought, or pirating anything period, just to avoid steam. Its insane. No, no piracy, just hateful empty threats and sadness for me...

UPDATE: Apparantly, you must install HL2 Deathmatch and HLSource deathmatch as well as episode one. Now I have only an hour of updating. Most of my hatred is hereby retracted.

Im pretty sure you can pause or stop downloads too, so you dont really have to wait for those things.
