Yikes, I didn't know that either. That's pretty poor.

Well, I voted no (i.e. I wouldn't get this one) in the other thread but after seeing a screenshot of the cool looking menu, I went ahead and downloaded it last night. I haven't gone past the menu yet but it looks really cool.

Only played it a bit last night and this morning, but so far, I love it. It looks good, runs great, and the gameplay is still the formula that I really enjoyed in HL2. Very much worth the purchase/download.

This was the best $17 I've spent in a long time. Working along side Alyx was really awesome. I actually had a better time with this then with HL2 itself. Definitely recommended.

I haven't finished it yet but I'm impressed so far. It's definitely a case of quality over quantity here. Sure it's only 5 hours of gameplay, but it's 5 hours of the tightest and most polished gameplay ever. Really professional design.
I'm stuck at the broken elevator in the dark with all those zombies. Heck of a fight trying to balance shotgun and grav gun attacks while conserving flashlight power. Those new flares are pretty wicked too.
I suppose it's worth 20 bucks. I can see myself replaying this a few times through, maybe with the commentary on next time.
One thing bugs me though. I haven't gotten my crowbar yet. I could really use that thing.

If you listen to certain commentary parts as well you can get a better idea of the plot of HL2 ep2

I hate valve for this, why isn't the game content on the disc??? Oh, well I guess I'll still "download" the next few episodes anyway...Update: I ****ing hate valve. I can't beleive it I might end up pirating a game I already bought, or pirating anything period, just to avoid steam. Its insane. No, no piracy, just hateful empty threats and sadness for me...

UPDATE: Apparantly, you must install HL2 Deathmatch and HLSource deathmatch as well as episode one. Now I have only an hour of updating. Most of my hatred is hereby retracted.
i am having same problem with retail dvd.never again

Thats not true is it? I installed the DVD like any other game, and then while it updated via steam I took a shower. It was done by the time I was done with my shower, so there is no way it downlaoded over 2 gigs in that time.

Is it 2 gig? I purchased the game through steam and it didn't take very long to download it (including HL2 DM, HL2 LC and HL DM Source).
