Default Re: Please post your 7950 overclocks here...

I received my EVGA card from Monarch last night.

detect optimal setting selected 550/700.

I havent had time to play with it ran 3mark06 just to make sure 3d was fine.
I got what seems like an awfully low score somewhere in the high 4000 like 4800 ish.

Seems weird because I had 7045 here with ,my 7900GTS
Here
http://service.futuremark.com/orb/pr...ojectId=249695

and this is my score when I had my x1900xt
here:
http://service.futuremark.com/orb/pr...ojectId=321022

I believe that i set everthing to performance, im familiar on how to set things in the control panel but maybe with this new control panel I may have missed something?

and thought on what I may have missed thanks in advance.

Make sure Multi-GPU mode is enabled and make sure that you're set to single display mode (not multi-display acceleration mode -- might get set to single automatically if SLI is enabled).

Iíll give that a shot when I get off work, I certainly may have missed that but not 100% sure. Thanks OWA I appreciate it.

It was just a shot in the dark really. Also, something that has happened to me a couple of times is that I accidentally had 4xAA forced in the nvidia control panel. I'd check the 3Dmark profile and global profile to make sure AA isn't be forced on for some reason.

Bump.

Im still curious about the overclocking results people are getting with these things. Specifically the eVGA cards

I found that if I use the detect optimal in the new control panel, it spits out 550/700 every time. Makes me wonder if it really works. The test function in the new CP also occurs really quickly so I'm suspicious of that also. With the old CP, the detect optimal gave me 575/755. I had been trying to use 550/700 and with a single one that worked really well and even higher worked really well. Never saw an issue. With quad-sli, I'm back at stock for time being. My overclocks work well in most games but a few, one being BloodRayne2, I get corruption on the top half of the screen. I haven't found it's acceptable overclock yet. Bear in mind, I'm still not using a quad-sli approved power supply either.

Yup, mine outputs 550/700 everytime as well. My max seems to be around 570 or so on the core... not too sure on the memory

Sounds like good news for the single 7950 GX2 users at least. You're getting pretty much twice the overclock with a dual setup like this. Judging by the reviews of the XFX card, the higher clocks really give a nice boost in performance in GPU heavy games.

My EVGA to detect optimal 550/700 but ive tried 600/725, and gamed for around 3 hour on Wolf Enemy Territory not a game to really stress the card but no lockups or stutters.

I'm very happy with my one 7950 but unfortunately i'm using a sempron 2800 with it until i can get my hands on a Athlon X2 4000 AM2.

I get close to 8000 3dmark 05 with this combo where the 7950 is overclocked to 550/700 and the sempron is overclocked to 1740 mhz. I'll keep testing and see if i can do better with more overclocking. I just put this system together saturday morning and haven't had a lot of time to test it.
