I bet the amount of polys being pushed is so overwhelming that even the R300's 256bit bus has trouble managing all the load.

Terrible question I know... but does the game support 640x480? And how horrible is it to play that way?

I ask because I'm hearing people with better systems than mine, and they're getting 30fps or less on average. Maybe a low res of 640x480 would solve those FPS problems? (as painful as it might be). Or how about 800x600 ?

Dude, you got nothing to worry about. I run it just fine on my rig at 800x600 32bit max nearly everything.

Runing everything @ max here, no AA but 1280x1024, doesnt get lower then 60fsp, sometimes even 120 (but somehow still feels smooth).

Cant have EAX enabled cause it crashes now and then

It's a nice game, I love to place the turrets and your allies marines to guard buildings and then wait for assault of enemy force

I also wonder about the lower rez... fer my TV!!
I'm not worried about my 310/560 ti4200 at all (I'll expect 45-70 fps mid/hi detail, 2xAF, 2XAA, 1024x768)... but my slow-ish (245/380) R8500 AIW DV in my HTPC will probably be thanking me for keepin it @ 8x6 on the TV with 4XAF/4XAA...

waitaminit... this game's out in retail form? And I'm going to BJ's wholesale club tonite (like a Sam's Club)?

I think I'm gonna pick something up tonite...

***sidenote: wondering why there aren't any games out using enhanced Serious Sam 2 engine? hmmm....

I tried it first at 800x600 and coildn't stop looking at the jaggies so I had no choice but to go 1024. don't worry it'll be more than playable on your rig.
