Default disable DPMS

I can't seem to get X to disable DPMS, no matter how I set the DPMS option it always enables it.

anyone know what xorg.conf option will turn DPMS off?

You probably are using a windowmanager that has some controlpanel where you can set things like this (hidden deeply in a big menutree) and that overrides your manual settings at some random moment.

not using any window manager, running MythTV sans window manager. The options worked on my old setup with Xorg6.8.2, now with 7.0 and the newer drivers its a no go.

That sounds a bit contradictory to me.

If you're trying to disable screen blanking, try this:

Option "BlankTime" "time"
sets the inactivity timeout for the blanking phase of the screensaver. time is in minutes. This is equivalent to the Xorg server's `-s' flag, and the value can be changed at run-time with xset(1x). Default: 10 minutes.
