Was that the mirror you were using, Philibob ?
I was using a different one: http://badct.4players.de:1337/dlredi...1174&type=file
I wonder if I'm safe posting that, I've still got 6 minutes of download left

And does anyone know if there is a Dx9 uninstaller that works with win98se?
Directx doesnt have an unistaller, even on XP, but you do have system restore in both Win98 and WinME. WinME has the same restore as XP and Win98 has restore in DOS. Ive been using DirectX9 for sometime now, and I havent had one problem. What are you going to do, when games will be asking you to install DX9

Well, I got it, installed it, and ran it. If you don't have a Radeon 9700 or a GeForce FX, prepare to be disturbed. The highest scores I saw posted on futuremark's site were less than 2000 marks for a Ti4600, and mine scored 1679 at stock speeds. I haven't seen any FX scores, but the 9700s are posting scores over 5000 marks. I find this particularly annoying in light of the fact that the FX isn't what nVidia said it would be, and I intend to wait for their next offering. My loyalty will only stretch so far. If nVidia doesn't do something spectacular in the next 6 months, I could end up buying a vid card based on the R350.

damn.
XP1.4Ghz+4200 got me 1128

I got 8.3fps on the troll test and 8.7 on the space ship

really lame to watch. Nothing can look impresive when its 3 fps.
at some point it held 1fps
now I know- NO DOOM3 FOR ME.

dangum, as much as I dislike 3dmark, I'm still a sucker to d/l the latest vers when it first comes out. Those scores don't look too promising for my rig though heh, any feedback on how the demo runs?

Well, I feel like a traitor for posting this here since I have an ATI card, but NV is my true love. My first card was a plain old GF256 SDR, and it worked wonderfully, and it still working wonderfully in the other system I own. Unfortunately the noise and price were just too much on the FX, nevermind the fact that I just couldn't wait any longer (I am very impatient ) so I got a 9700. Anyways here are the specs and scores:

2.53GHz Intel P4
512MB DDR 333
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro

I got 1885 3DMarks to start with, upon installing the new ATI drivers I went to 4570 3DMarks. I have to give ATI a lot of credit. I owned a 8500 and it was a POS. It was only good for TV-out and DVD, but this 9700 has been great (including games). I really hope NV does well though, cause I would really like to go back to them eventually.
