I got 1885 3DMarks to start with, upon installing the new ATI drivers I went to 4570 3DMarks. I have to give ATI a lot of credit. I owned a 8500 and it was a POS. It was only good for TV-out and DVD, but this 9700 has been great (including games). I really hope NV does well though, cause I would really like to go back to them eventually.
what the hell? Maybe NVidia could give us some of that "Driver Magic"

For those of you who are having problems finding a fast server, I set up a BitTorrent download:
http://igx89.no-ip.com/3dmark03.torrent

Get BitTorrent here: http://osdn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourc...orrent-3.1.exe

My machine has only a ~33kBps upload, so if it seems slow at first just wait. The neat thing about BitTorrent is that it uploads WHILE you're downloading, thus preventing leechers. It's VERY neat

1147 3DMarks.
XP2100+, Ti4600 (310/700), nForce2, PC2700 DualDDR.
Ouch.

A few of the tests were slideshows... choppity chop.

With the Pro registration, it removed all the ads within 3DMark03, and enabled some of the 'greyed out' buttons. According to the help file:

Features only available in the Pro version of 3DMark03 are:

Full control over the benchmark display configuration, including resolution, colour palette, anti-aliasing and texture filtering.

Professional tools, including image quality analysis and batch run functionality.

Result import to MS Excel tool for easier result management and report creation.

Access to the Pro-Online Result Browser, a must have for all professional system testers and enthusiast overclockers.

Plus, all the 'between tests' graphics say 'Professional Edition' now... Well, I did 'Pro' it for site use, so the Excel feature and other configuration settings will be of great help.

What the hell ??!!?!?

I just ran it and got ** 1627 ** (sorry I said 1679 earlier..I couldn't save the score as 3dmark site is totally lagged out). 3dmarks ?????? *COUGH * GASP*. Shoot me, please !

This is on a Gf4 Ti 4600 (core 320 mhz, RAM 715 mhz), and P3-S tualatin @ 1575 mhz (which is faster than a P4 @ 2.0, and about XP 1900 power). This is pretty damn sad.

I was getting an average of 2-7 FPS on the 2nd and third game tests !!!!!!!!! Is this normal? I installed directX 9.0 (and might have broken compatibility with some games, although all my games are working so far), for *THIS*?????

I get 10,580 on 3dmark 2001 se.

if I DOUBLED my CPU power, that would be about a 3.5 ghz P4 (roughly...remember the P3-S beats a P4 clock for clock easily)...
Assuming the CPU doubling would double my FPS, thats 4-14 FPS ! On a 3.5 ghz P4.

Ok, back to BF1942....I've had enough of this.

I'm so mad that I'm sitting here lagging, uploading this *ahem* benchmark to ALT.BINARIES.MISC newsgroup, in case the mirrors collapse when all the people get home from school/college this afternoon.

How come my P3-S tualatin @ 1575 mhz and my Ti 4600 is beating your AXP 2100? that shouldn't be happening -_-
But yes, most of the benchmarks are absolute slide shows.

I'm going to run the benchmark again, just to make sure.

I don't know, but to make matters worse, I dropped-in a set of Corsair TwinX PC3200 CAS2 sticks (replacing the PC2700 Samsung CAS 2.5) and I got a 20 3DMark increase. Yep... Fun...
Other than the Ti4600, i'm not overclocking anything, and even the Ti4600 is only mildly overclocked...

I just ran the benchmark again and got: 1639
BTW, I'm using 256MB PC 133 SDRAM @ 150 FSB (pretty obvious for a 1.4 ghz P3-S @ 1575 mhz). Cas timings are as fast as my motherboard allows, plus an extra tweak done in WBXTUNE.

As it turns out, the test I was getting 2-7 fps on was that "ragtroll" test. The 2nd and third gametests gave between 4-15 fps. Still, double the CPU speed, that's still less than 8-30 fps for a 3.5 ghz P4 (assuming the CPU is even a factor here, and not the video card)

I downloaded it and ran it. Results:

4545 3dmarks

System in signature. I'm using the 3.0a catalyst drivers.

seems like the difference between the 4600Ti and the 4200Ti is not very noticeable when it comes to this kind of stress.
me happy!! saved some bucks!!
now to buy a new card

Thanks mayn, that is the one and only link I've tried among literally dozens today that has worked worth a crap. 86% right now and holding steady @ 68k/sec.. Every other link has been about 2K/sec if I was able to get it to d/l at all.
