Hello,
I'm working with a Verari workstation with a Quadro 4500 and Redhat Enterprise Update 4. After dl & install of the nvidia drivers, xorg will start and run with dri and an excellent resolution framerate. However, at seemingly random intervals, the entire machine will completely freeze, needing a hard reboot. Sometimes this happens during startup, other times after the system has been running for four or five minutes. Log files show nothing. The vesa driver works all right, but with nowhere near the performance required from the card. Knoppix appears to be using the same driver with no problems. Any replies are greatly appreciated. |

Please generate and post an nvidia-bug-report.log immediately after reproducing this problem.
Thanks, Lonni |

Seems like it could be the old kernel that redhat supplies with enterprise 4.
For some reason, it works with noapic in grub.conf |
