Unhappy Stuck in Lost Planet...

I'm stuck on mission 04. The part at the platform. I realize I need to anchor onto the cliff wall before the platform plunges. I cannot figure out where to anchor or what to aim for. Each time I try - I either get flung back onto the platform, fall off the cliff, or the anchor will stick and I just hang there until something knocks me off. I just cannot find where I need to anchor and how to move from there.

Any thoughts?

Right below the ledge/feet of the enemy soldiers on the left snow, it will hook there.

Where the platform is moving, you will see the "rail" it travels along. Above that is the ledge. The best place to grapple is anywhere between the rail and the ledge, closer to the ledge side if possible.

Exactly. I just tried it out again and hooked slighly below the ledge a few seconds after the platform starts to move and it worked nicely. I think thats a good spot because the distance between ledge and platform is rather short.

So should I wait for the platform to move a little first, but no too long?

I thought I had tried every place in that area, guess I'll look again.

This anchor spot is below the ledge that the 3 guys were on before you shoot them?

Thanks for the help!

Exactly the anchor spot is below the ledge just about where it begins. Make sure you press and hold the W key because when he pulls up the anchor he does the ledge jump and with the direction key you can control which direction he is suppose to do the ledge jump.
