Mine BETTER be here tomorrow! Somehow I think preordering from EBGames was a mistake though. I got the overnight shipping, and it claims it ships TODAY, but so far it doesn't say my order has shipped. I am not hopeful.

Ah well, got Pikmin 2 for $20 a few weeks ago. I can always play that in the meantime.

Edit: They DID change the shipping date! I need to learn to stop ordering from EB,.

My roommate (works at walmart) just called me and told me they just put it on the shelf, He's going to pickup a copy for himself.

I would, but EBGames seems to have done away with their cancel button.

I never order from EB or Gamestop, They have horrible service... trust me I know, I use to work for them. They couldn't even get the products to their own stores on time.

*Sigh* We need more online distribution. I like StarDock's model. You can download the game, there is no copyright protection, you only need a serial if you want to use their online services or updates, which are plentifuly and free. PS: GalCiv2 is amazing.

Valve comes in 2nd although I dislike how closely integrated steam is with the games distributed over it.

Never used Direct2Drive, although I hear there can be significant lag time before patches for games you've gotten through it show up, since you can't use the normal patches for those games. They are planning to put Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines on Direct2Drive, it'll be amusing to see how they handle the patches since its 3rd party patches which make the game PLAYABLE :P

I love Direct 2 Drive, the only negative aspect like you mentioned are the patching but its not that bad depending on the game. The worse aspect is expansions, D2D titles aren't compatible with retail expansions...

for a very long time it seems like eb and gamestop only mission is to put PC gamming down, and slowly kill it off. i always shop either at Fry's Eletronics or gogamer.com, occasionally at best buy or compusa.

Ya gonna check the stores today for this. Played the demo, it's decent enough and fun. True it is similar to Diablo and true no random maps, but I only play a RPG once. I don't play MP with anyone because I don't have anyone to do that with. Either way, be on my PC very soon!

wow, are you serious.... this fridgkin game fridgkin crashes and your character dies after the first side mission in the caves

seriously, who the hell play-tested this and said to themselves, let's just play straight through, who the hell would want to do side missions. awaiting patch already.

*remembers why he doesn't like to get hyped for games*

Yeah game crashed on my too when I did the Caves Side-Quest, I found a way around it though. Don't port out of the cave right away... walk out of it and then do it. Seems theres a bug with the teleport and that cave. I had my save game curropted but I really don't mind since its less then 30mins into the game.

I am disappointed that the slowdown from the demo that had to do with the caves hasn't been fixed at all. It seems it only happens on first level caves but as soon as you go down to the second level its all better, Really weird.

Over all, The game is fun. I found it easiest to play a straight Warrior. No Skills to really worry about, just beat the hell out of things and you make more money since you can sell almost everything you find.

Im an hour into the game so far, and having tons of fun.

UGH. EB still hadn't shipped my order. Overnight shipping doesn't do me any good when they are just sitting on it. So I call them to cancel it so I can pick it up on the way home from work, and what happens? It lists where I ordered it from as "Unknown" in their system, so they can't touch the order! 10 minutes later as they call in more and more systems people, and nobody can do anything. They don't know if it'll ship, won't ship, if they can cancel it, return it, anything.

So basically this has become Shrodinger's Purchase. It is both made, and not made, at the same time. Ah well, they said that even if it ships, they'll give me a full refund on it.

Last time I order from EBGames though.
