Question Organizing my start menu in Windows XP Question?

I want to organize my start menu in Windows XP Pro so that it appears to look neat and professional. I want to have my start menu to where I can have certain software applications in their own customized menu. For instance, I want all my computer games in the start menu to be listed under PC Gaming or all my photo software under Photo Editing Tools. How can I successfully organize the start menu this away. I know it can be done but, I don't know how to do it.

Right click on the start button, and select explore all users.

This will allow you to create folders, and drag shortcuts into them.

Okay, great! Once I go and do this I see that I can create a new folder and name it anything. At first the new created folder is at the top of the menu list. I can drag and drop it into the start menu and add the ralated content all on that new created folder such as Video Editing Tools and put all my related content that has to do with video software in that start menu and be organized and professional and neat! Great! Thanks again fro helping me out jAkUp.

if you have a few that didnt appear in the All Users folder. The software was probably installed under User.

You can go to C:\Documents and Settings\(user)\Start Menu

to cut n paste them into All Users\Start Menu

Or if you have games/apps you don't want other users to see in their start menu. Drag them out of All Users\Start Menu and put them in %username%\Start Menu.

I'm surpised you guys didn't figure that out on your own. I've been organizing mine into groups for a while but before I tried always assumed it could be done.

You know, I had a IT teacher in High School that actually had a go at me about me rearraging the Start Menu structure. We were using 98 and discussing the way to customise it. Apparently he says that the desktop is a "user" area, the Quick Launch was a "user" area, but the Start Menu was an "OS" area and that moving things around was one of the main reasons 98 became so unstable on most people PCs.
I wish he could have seen my PC, I organise everything myself. Microsft stuff in the Microsoft folder, Mozilla in the Mozilla folders. All things Apple and itunes into the Itunes folder, all CD burning apps are in Nero's folder. Only thing I don't touch are game folders, usually as I uninstall them often and can't be bothered to remove the start menu stuff myself when the uninstaller can't find its new location.

location.
lol

Well I reckon win98 was unstable because it was a badly programmed interface for dos not because of the startmenu....
