Default Overclock = lower 3dm05 score?

Specs are in sig
6800 vanilla 128mb unlocked to 16/6 pipelines.
91.33 drivers

When I run 3dm05 at stock speeds on card (325/750) i achieve a score of 4018.
If i increase speeds to 400/800, I score a dismal 3370. I dont see how this could be throttling as I have a NV silencer strapped on my card. Temps dont exceed 53 degrees C. Any ideas why this could be happening?
