Default Problems with XvMC under Debian

I'm trying to get XvMC working with my eVGA 6200. I've tried running `mplayer -vo xvmc -vc ffmpeg12mc recording.ts` . The video will play without the xvmc options, but when the xvmc options, I get this:

Code:

I have installed the nvidia drivers using Debian's nvidia-glx and nvidia-kernel-source packages. Attached is my nvidia-bug-report.log.

For some reason mplayer doesn't like your libXvMC.so. Make sure that the library is indeed Nvidia's libXvMC library.

Here is the output of 'ls -l libXvMC*' in /usr/lib:

Code:
jdhutchin@atlantis:/usr/lib$ ls -l libXvMC*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     25 2006-07-09 19:12 libXvMCNVIDIA_dynamic.so.1 -> libXvMCNVIDIA.so.1.0.8762
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     25 2006-07-09 19:12 libXvMCNVIDIA.so.1 -> libXvMCNVIDIA.so.1.0.8762
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 170732 2006-06-05 12:16 libXvMCNVIDIA.so.1.0.8762
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     16 2006-07-10 14:10 libXvMC.so.1 -> libXvMC.so.1.0.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root   9836 2006-05-07 23:36 libXvMC.so.1.0.0
If I change the libXvMC.so.1 link to point at libXvMCNVIDIA.so.1.0.8762, I get this error:

Code:
mplayer: symbol lookup error: ./libXvMC.so.1: undefined symbol: _xvmc_create_context
I don't know what I'd have to do to get things loading correctly.

Default Re: Problems with XvMC under Debian

I found the problem... I didn't know about /etc/X11/XvMCConfig. It seems to contain the library that should be used for XvMC, I changed it from /usr/lib/libXvMC.so.1 to /usr/lib/libXvMCNVIDIA.so.1 (or whatever the nvidia xvmc library is on your system). After that fix, XvMC works correctly with mplayer.
