In the level "Ascent"...when you maneuver your pod into the container that "locks you in"...my system crashes, hard. Not a lock, not a crash to Windows, not bluescreen, totally instant power cutoff to my system. I have to power cycle the PSU before I can get power again. Once back in Windows my taksbar is empty (no quick launch toolbar or any others I have setup).

Anyone else run into this? It happens right after the "locked in" or whatever message appears. This has happened three times in a row now at the exact same spot.

lol. that was actually my only true disapointment of the game. then of course d3 and q4 came right back to mind. someone important to you has to be killed off. i got over it, moved on and was still greatly satisfied with the game. i just wish they would have taken a different route with her.

I just beat the game about 15 minutes ago. Incredible! It gets my vote for game of the year, unless something else comes out later on such as Crysis. Since id software is now able to do soft shadows in te DOOM 3 engine, I wonder if we'll see all DOOM 3 engine games get a technology update. My soure is wikipedia. The new tech is going to be used in RTCW 2.

I did'nt think it needed a patch ,it ran smooth from the start to the end ,I did'nt have one hickup or pause or anything ,it has been a while since I played a game and did'nt have to ajust anything ,I liked this game better then D3 because D3 was so dark it was hard to see all the creatures and I still have not finished Q4 yet,It just has not peak my interest like Prey did.I thought it was well put together.

Just finished Prey. Awsome game..by far one of the best games i played in a long time..at first it was a bit dull..but the game got better and better as the story moved on..Great use of the Doom 3 Engine and this game was a blast to play..was long at times..but was fun..great ending..superb bosses..awsome game..

I noticed that near the end if u move ure mouse arround fast something metal like object shows up on the bottom right..goes away really fast...

Great game...gonna miss it ><..Wonder if Prey 2 will come out..

So this recently got ported to Linux (yeah, yeah, I know) so I picked it up. I never bought the full game because the demo kind of felt like Doom 3 with a couple of new gimmicks to me, but man was I wrong. I finished it last night (less than a week after starting which is probably a record for me) and this may be my favorite shooter that I've played so far. I loved the story and the big set pieces. The scale of some of the later levels blew me away. The puzzles made me think without ever frustrating me. I never felt like they repeated gameplay just to make the game longer. About the only real complaint I have is that a couple of the boss fights were a little weak, but not to the point where they took away from the rest of the game.

I know this game is really old, but I enjoyed it so much that I thought it deserved a thread necro.
