No.

This installer ended up being the normal one. It just had the different launch screen.

The collector's edition is nice. I didn't mind purchasing it even after I had already purchased the Triton version.

On a different note...

The Triton version was easy to move to my 2nd computer. They allow you to install it on 3 different computers so that was pretty cool.

What do i do now? Do i start over (though i have no guranteee that when i reach this level again, it'll work) or is there a fix maybe?
I just loaded the my last save game prior to the end, and replayed the part from where the little kid get impaled on through the portal and into the next level, and it worked fine.

i just wanted to make the comment on the great job they did on optimising the engine. i decided to give d3 a whirl again, thinking maybe i could play it on this rig since prey was playable. no fricking way. another thing i noticed right off the bat is how "colorful" prey is in contrast. goodstuff.

I'm wondering about this too. I get a lot of aliasing on certain edges where textures seem to come together as well as distance rails.

I get nothing with Transparency AA on SuperSampling + Gamma AA being on, and 4x in the control panel, not the game. Also same with the 16xaf I have that set in the CP as well.

I can't believe Gamespot said this game "Lacks any challenge". I would say it has some of the hardest puzzles i have seen in a FPS. I've been stuck a few times and have actually had think about what I was doing.

I think Gamespot's lackluster review may have something to do with the fact that the developers of Prey choose to go with Playtriton instead of Direct2Drive. This game is very enjoyable and somewhat challenging. The easy resurrection is the only design decision that I don't like, and without it I'm sure it would have added quite a bit to the games length. Overall it's the most fun I've had since HL2 and Far Cry.
