Hi everyone,
I finally (or so I thought) managed to install the nvidia driver on Ubuntu Dapper with no errors. To do this I uninstalled all the packages in synaptic that came up when I searched nvidia (including the nv driver - was this wrong?). I then had to specify the directory /usr/lib/xorg/modules/ with the installer option --x-module-path= This solves previous errors I had with X crashing on startup. The problem now is that I still don't see the nvidia splash screen when starting up. Also I ran glxgears and received what I think is a very low framerate (around 40-50 fps). Is something wrong with my installation that I didn't receive an error about? Is there anyway to test and see if the driver is installed correctly? Just ask if any additional information is required. Thanks in advance for any help ![]() |

Have you updated your xorg.conf?
