I did not receive a AM2 Crossfire motherboard from ECS as I was supposed to. I tried to buy one but there aren't any AM2 Crossfire motherboards for sale in the states at this time.

The first system I put together was the NVIDIA mid-range back on June 16. Getting all of the necessary hardware was the main problem, but Abit, AMD, BFG, NVIDIA, and Super Talent came through.

I spent over 150 hours on the review. Most of the time was spent on assembling, testing, and dis-assembling the systems. I double-checked every result since I wanted to avoid having to put a system together again because I made a mistake.

I appreciate the positive comments. That alone made it worthwhile.

Great job ....I'm still waiting to read Ratchets @ Rage3D. And yes building a PC is time consuming! My very first build took me at least 8 to 10 hours! I was nervous! And then when I went and put in this new MSI motherboard time seemed to fly by.

I also enjoyed it throughly( LOW END EEKS )........here's what I really miss,Forceware(detonator)benchies on the same system from say 70.xx to 90.xx with results. There was a site around yr or 2 ago which tried to keep an updated performance chart with the same system configuration.

That chap at guru 3d was quite scathing about nvidia and their driver optimizations. Intresting.
Quote:
It's a very good call but as Rage3D pointed out very well, NVIDIA still compromises on image quality. Obviously with optimizations enabled ATI simply is king of Image Quality and I just do not understand that there's no movement from NVIDIA to do something about it. I still play games sometimes and see the shimmering effect and go WTF?! Companies should not compromise on image quality over a mere 5% performance differential.
