My assigned address changed on my roughter and I did not update my DMZ. Once I deactivated the DMZ steam worked fine.

I use to think it sucked but after I learned how to turn off auto start and the rest of the crap and saw that it did its job at updating and basically didnt run in the background with a big footprint I began to like it. The only real flaw I find with it is that Valve like greedy bitches still charge the same price as a retail packaged game.

Steam is okay. It makes launching a game take 30 minutes (exaggerating a a bit since it only takes 29 minutes ) but it's nice being able to download a game at any hour.

Sooo you've never gotten so frustrated you've shot something off like that? And even though the rest of the thread had next to nothing in the way of solutions for him, he was still decent enough to post the fix. I've seen worse.

I quite like steam. Thing is I wish the games were a little bit cheaper. Online version cost the same as the cost in the gamestore. Looks like valve are making a packet.

Memmy, are you trying to be abrasive? This is the second thread I have noticed your comments in and you seem to be doing a good job at it.

I think steam works well for the most part. Sometimes the servers that it downloads from are very slow, but other than that it works good

I hated Steam way back in the day when there was a choice between steam and the good old clunky and bugged Half-Life server browser and the WON network.

I miss those days, but Steam is much much better now. Its a great way to buy games and keep track of them.

The only thing I wish they had was the ability to add "folders" to your game list. I have probably 20 items on that list and itd be nice to be able to sort them into groups. I like to have things like that organised.

I agree that they should lower their prices a tad too. The non Valve games are quite a bit cheaper through Steam but the Valve games are usually more expensive on Steam than they are in most stores.
