Question Biostar Tforce 6100 939... Good choice??

OK ... I'm making the move to PCI-Express by way of a Biostar 6100 939 board (I hope)

Are there any issues this board has with Linux ??? I'd like to use as many "onboard" fetures as I can (including graphics until I can afford a decent card)

I'm currently running Slackware 10.2 on a 754 2800 CPU and a VIA chipset with a 6600gt AGP card and everything works great !!

Has anyone had experience with this mobo and integrated video(3d acceleration enabled), sound & network with Linux ??

Thanks in advance

Mike

I've used this board with FC5-x86, and haven't run into any problems.

Thanks,
Lonni

Any recent (2.6.16 or later) kernel comes with the chipset drivers needed. The graphics driver is available on NVIDIA's website.

Thanks,

Thank you for your help... one more question though...

If I'm running slack 10.2 with a "stock" 2.4.xx kernel would I have to recompile the kernel with the right chipset drivers or could I just install the "right" drivers on the 2.4 kernel ???

hopefully Slack 11.0 will have a 2.6 kernel by default...

Sorry for all the noobish questions, but I really appreciate all the help.

I'd be surprised if any 2.4.x kernels worked well on this motherboard.
