Hi =)
I have a TwinView setup with a CRT as first display and a 19" TFT as second (HANNS G JC 198D). It worked somewhat fine when I had both connected via VGA. After I connected the TFT via DVI cable and changed the xorg.conf option from "ConnectedMonitor" "crt,crt" to "ConnectedMonitor" "crt,dfp" the Horizontal Sync and Vertical Refresh ranges couldn't be determined with EDID and the box hardlocked when starting X. The X config I used is attached. Unfortuanately neither the website nor the manual specifies the HorizSync + VertRefresh ranges, and I don't know if it's possible to calculate them from the following table: Supporting Timing Modes VGA 720 x 400 @ 70Hz VGA 640 x 480 @ 60Hz MAC 640 x 480 @ 67Hz VESA 640 x 480 @ 75Hz VESA 800 x 600 @ 56Hz VESA 800 x 600 @ 60Hz VESA 800 x 600 @ 72Hz VESA 800 x 600 @ 75Hz MAC 832 x 624 @ 75Hz VESA 1024 x 768 @ 60Hz VESA 1024 x 768 @ 70Hz VESA 1024 x 768 @ 75Hz VESA 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz VESA 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz Can somebody make the required values up from this ? (the card is a XpertVision 7900GT Sonic 512MB) Thanks in advance =) |

Try to connect the monitors using the old configuration. I believe that the nvidia drivers mention the detected horizsync/vertrefresh ranges in the xorg log file.

I now have the correct Ranges and entered them in xorg.conf, but I still have the same problem, so it's probably a bug in the nvidia driver ...
Could somebody move this thread to the nVidia Linux Forum ? |
