I tried applying zander's latest patch (260606) but even with that I get the same errors.
I am running Ubuntu Edgy - kernel 2.6.17, gcc 4.1. I have all the necessary packages: build-essential, xserver-xorg-dev, linux-headers, and I even tried gcc-3.4 and 4.0 but to no avail. The original nvidia-installer.log file is 287.6KB so I cannot upload the entire file. Im putting in the first 1700 lines. Please indicate if you need more. |

Your kernel source seems to be in an inconsistant state:
include/linux/bitops.h:9:24: error: asm/bitops.h: No such file or directory This isn't an nvidia driver issue, I'm afraid. -Lonni |

Problem fixed with an updated headers package. Thanks for the direction towards fixing the problem.
