Default Any 7950 after market coolers???

Not that I have one yet, but I was just wondering if anyone knew of any current/pending aftermarket coolers for the 2-in-1 style cards that the 7950 is the first of. I have a new build coming up soon and QUIET is a major part of that. I'd like to get a 8850 (or whatever they call the new line) but being able to place a large HS/FAN on it for better/quieter cooling is important too.

So, anywho, any links/rumors????

Guess that is a "no" ..... bummer ... I would like to go xx50 GTX next round but I need a QUIET fan and simply do not have the room to take up 2 two slot solutions.

I think evga is making a 7950GX2 "black pearl" edition that will have a watercooling block on each core.

The stock coolers on the 7950 are pretty quiet, I have a quiet computer with an Antec P180 case and a Seasonic S12-600 power supply and while the fans on the 7950 are audible when they spin up over the ambiant system noise (which is almost near-silent) the noise stays on a very low level and is not annoying at all.

When I was building the system I too was worried about the 7950 being the noisiest component which can potentially ruin a silent setup but after I've had a chance to use it I'd say that the stock coolers are completely acceptable to me as they do a good job of cooling the card which runs 100% stable at 600/800 and still manage to keep the noise at a very low level.

Hmmm ... thanks for the tip Igor ... good to know.

Although I gotta admit, still a little skeptical that those thin 40mm fans can be REALLY that quiet ...... guess its one of those "you have to hear it for yourself to believe it" things.

Exactly how I felt when I was getting all the components for the system. I've even considered using an X1900 XTX with a Zalman cooler instead of the 7950 but decided against it because my 24" Dell LCD dictates that games are played at 1920x1200 so I had to go with the 7950. I thought I'd get the card for now and look for a third party silent cooling solution later. Now after having used the card for a week I can honestly say that the reviews were right, the card is amazingly quiet for what it is and I no longer think that an after market cooler is necessary. I can barely hear the fans spin up over the hum of airconditioning and distant traffic noise from a closed window. But of course your experiences could be different so the best thing to do is to try it out for yourself and if you find the noise level unacceptable, you can always look into getting a water cooler setup.

So how big is the 7950 fan? Are there 2 of them or is there just 1 on top with a hole through to the bottom? Is it a REALLY thin fan?

How does the noise compair to a 7900GTX?

Yeah theres one fan only and it's 60mm unlike the 90mm on the 7900GTX as such the 7950 runs alot louder.
