6600GT PCI-E, ubuntu 6.06, doesnt work
I have a 6600GT PCI-E card and have installed the drivers (try different ways of installing following forum posts already).
It works fine with the vesa driver. But if I set the driver to nvidia, X doesn't start. All that happens is there is a _ flashing in the top left corner then it displays error messages similar to ata1: command 0x35 timeout.... It only gives this error when trying to use the nvidia driver so I think the hard drive is fine.
Previously I had FC5 installed. I could not get the card working with this either.
