By using an SLI-equipped motherboard, is it possible to get four screens running simultaneously? (each card running TwinView)

Yes that's possible, it can also be done using four separate X screens and combining those four together using xinerama.

I believe this is possible however probably not in SLI mode. meaning two cards but SLI disabled, i think only one monitor works with SLI.
