Question display resolution???

uhhh.. i have a Nvidia 5500 card and have KDE installed, im writeing this on it right now =) the problem is that the desplay is stuck on a really low resoultion

i tried adding to the Xorg config file something like this

Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600"

but if I do that startx or Xorg wont work at all .. so

is there some special way that you have to do this using the nvidia drivers or KDE or Xorg .... or something
