Default 8762 + SMP + SLI System Crash

SLI performs stably, with my current setup, on a non-smp kernel, but leads to a system crash when used with a smp kernel. When SLI is not enabled with Option "SLI" "True", X runs stably. This does not seem to be a hardware issue, as I have tested SLI with the new CPU (AMD 64 3800+ X2) extensively in Windows with no stability issues.

The bug report has been attached. The motherboard I am running is the Asus A8N SLI-Deluxe.

If you boot with the pci=conf1 kernel parameter, does that have any impact on this problem?

Thanks,

This certainly seems to solve all the SLI stability issues. Thank you very much. I would like to know why this solves the problems though. If a simple or simplified explanation is possible, I'd appreciate it.

pci=conf1 changes how PCI bus resources are accessed. More extensive explanations have been discussed in other threads on this forum.

Thanks,
Lonni

To be nitpicking, it changes how PCI bus resources are configured :-)
