Default Re: So.. what have you ordered?

Just to clarify earlier posts that I made, I don't think my earlier problems were because of the DS3. I still think the board is crap, but the OCZ gold has problems with the 965 chipset. I did alot of research today and ASUS even told a customer "That ram won't work properly even with the latest bios" (paraphrasing)...So BACK goes the OCZ. I've decided on Patriot 4-4-4-12 800, or Corsair 4-4-4-12 800. I will make a final decision when I either get an email back from Patriot, or I don't think they are going to email me back, I will call them. I've been liking patriot lately, so I'll go that route if they say it's stable with my P5B. If not, I'll go with the Corsair, I havn't heard of any problems with it, and it's listed on thier website as being compatible with the P5B Deluxe...We shall see...I always say I won't be an early adopter, but it just never works out....ROFL...

Got my G.Skill 6400CL3D today. No fancy box for me either. I guess those are reserved for the Swiss, lol.

Got my E6700 today also and the box was SMASHED!! Had a hole tore in it big enough to stick your fist in. The processor box itself was slightly mushed but it doesn't look like any of the contents were damaged.

Stupid UPS

Now, bring on the 590!!!

Does the box really matter? I mean, what are you going to do with it? Let it sit in a corner to collect dust. Nice to look at for 5 minutes, but worthless imo.

*shrugs* I guess, but not worth the extra money imo (if it actually is extra money of course).

Review on Newegg.com shows:

G.SKILL
Model F2-6400CL3D-2GBGA

"Cons: It defaults to 4-4-4-12 at 2T."

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231089

Do you find this to be the case?

Read the review above that one, he corrected the problem (it's the same poster).
