Lightbulb Asus A8N-VM CSM audio problem

i have a problem with sound. every roughly 15-30 mins the onboard sound seems to dissapear and in the sounds section of the control panel it says "no playback device available" but after a powerdown everything is back to normal and it starts over again

what i would like to know is has anybody else had similar problems and how can i fix it ?

it looks to be power management related but i have disabled all power management in both the bios and windows but nothing seems to help i am using :-

windows xp pro
1.5 gig ddr400
onboard audio
geforce 7600 PCI-e

latest drivers from nvidia website

bios is v1001

thanks in advance

This is a Solaris forum, not Windows. I think you need to post this elsewhere if you expect to receive assistance.
