Question Unreal Tournament


I've just installed the 8762 drivers on FC5. It installed perfectly with no problems.

I've got UT installed and running WAYY faster than it does on windows.

There just seem to be weird opengl problems in-game... things are out of place and some weird things going on. UT is set to use the /usr/lib/ligGL.so.. which seems to be linked to the NV opengl driver..

The only thing I didn't do from this thread was the chcon commands.. I got "chcon: can't apply partial context to unlabeled file /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so

I'm not sure if this is a problem with UT.. or the NV drivers..

If you mean my favourite game, UT GOTY, then
try using the latest opengl driver for it. Works fab here.


Unpack in $UTPREFIX/System

Backup old .so just incase you wanna restore it later.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'weird things', and verify that this problem also reproduces with the 1.0-8774 driver?

Also, please generate and post an nvidia-bug-report.log.

I put that in my System directory with no change.. was I supposed to change anything in the .ini?

I've installed the latest drivers and still have the same problem.

What I mean by 'weird' are things like planets that are supposed to be floating in the background will be right in front of your gun. Lots of the time things will not 'appear' until you get really close to them (i know many games do this on purpose) but the things that don't appear really SHOULD be there.. It's all just out of whack!

I put in an old Geforce2 MX200.. all of the problems are GONE!

Too bad I can't use this card, because 1280x1024 pretty much kills the fps.

With the GF4 440MX things were all screwed up, like I said in my previous post. I also tested out another level on the 440MX, it seems like (textures?) were moving 'faster. For example.. the water was shimmering at like 20x the rate it should have been.. and in a space level the backdrop was moving way faster than it should have been as well..

All of the problems were GONE when I put in the old GF2 200MX...

I hope there is a fix!

I had to put the 440 back in here because I stole the 200mx from another computer.

Do you have any idea what's going on here?

Hey, have exactly the same problems with ut goty and a geforce 4200ti. I wonder if nvidia will fix the problem one day - or make their driver open source?
